This professor uses casino games to teach probability and statistics. The games were confusing to me and I did not understand most of the formulas he used. I have not seen them before and the material was like nothing I have ever covered in math. The book is his notes, which help some. But I am still confused and so are most of my classmates that I have talked to.

If you want to learn about casino games and probability and statistics then this is the man for you. He's class is extremely difficult. You will be lucky to get a C.

Class can be confusing, but he is a nice guy and more than willing to help. Ask questions, take good notes. I made my first A in math since junior high.

He does not teach a thing. He just stands in front of the class and write a bunch of stuff on the board and it doesn't help you on anything. You basically have to teach yourself everything. I had to basically live in the ARC for this class. He is a pretty cool professor but you will have to teach yourself.

This prof is very helpful and understanding. He wil tell you stories that you may not understand at times but become more clear when you finish the course. His test are not that dificult either. Two of his test are fill in the blank where he gives partial credit even when you get the first part of the question wrong he wil still give you credit if you got the wrong the right wat. THAT'S COOL. His Final is multiple choice. On all his test he give roughly a 10 POINT CURVE. That's a letter grade. I would recommend this prof to anyone.

He's awesome. I've never made an A on a math test in my life and I made 100% on his first test. No more stress, you can use all your notes/book/homework on the test.

GREAT teacher. He teaches you probability by teaching you gambling games so it's very interesting. He wrote the book, which is actually notes, and he put old tests in his notes for each test. All that he does is reword the questions and puts different numbers in place of the ones on the old tests. So do the old tests and if you can do each problem on the test you'll make an A in the class.

EXCELLENT professor. He makes statistics fun by going over gambling games to keep it interesting. He gives you a ton of practice material, and always has his office door open if you need help on a problem. The best part? The tests are open-note, open-book. Sometimes the problems from your homework are exactly the same as the ones on the test, so you can basically copy the answers. I never made below an A on his tests. Oh, and he curves too .. usually the average was about a 3 - 5 point curve. He's got a mathematical mind and knows his stuff. Take him if possible.

Dr. McCune used to give open notes tests--not anymore. Likes to digress sometimes. Gives answers to homework and practice tests in his notes which are very helpful. Grading consists of 3 exams. My only complaints are that he doesn't supply formulas--gotta memorize, and he doesn't notice usually when people have questions. If you can't get his attention your stuck until he finishes the problem. Would be much more helpful if he periodically asked if everyone understood. Otherwise, he's happy to help you after class and during his office hours--a nice guy.
